Hey Guys,

I got this canopy for free and it serves me well, it is great for camping, but I hate the apperance it gives my truck. I'm wondering how you guys like it. On or off?

Off, looks like a oldmans truck when its on. Just my opinion though. Why not just put it on when you need it and keep it off other times.

i will agree, total grandpa truck. well i still live with my parents and my dad doesnt want me to take it off as it will take up space and he thinks its cool. he wants me to overhaul it so the windows dont leak, and im like, you do it, im the one that hates it. idk what to do

DsTrip2 08-01-2009 05:26 PM

it looks way better without a camper shell. get a toolbox, and put a tent/sleeping bag in it lol

=)

Find some cheap used yakima or thule racks on craigslist and throw them on there, and build a cheap hoist to pick it up.
That way just run it when you go camping. I love the functionality of a cap, but only use them if they are matched well like mine. Having said that, I still like the look of the truck better with it off.
The functionality outweighs the look in my case.

that is true, because like i daid, when we go camping it is very nice. but that is the only time i use it. i need to find somewhere to keep it. i might be able to keep it at my buddies place

GrabherII 08-01-2009 05:45 PM

sale the camper cover to edgeman4.0 he said he was looking for one

silverbullet32 08-01-2009 05:49 PM

i cant sell it

korey89 08-01-2009 05:52 PM

lol is this a serious question? I don't think I've ever seen a truck that looked better with a topper, they all look like crap to me. I say take it off, put in a toolbox, and be done with it. Headache racks are stupid looking too.

GrabherII 08-01-2009 06:10 PM

your lucky you can take your topper off, :( lol

that sucks. i have seen alot of bII's that have the rear of the cab cut off lol

hozII 08-01-2009 07:37 PM

I think you'll like it better if it were painted to match.

I totally agree. I never take mine off as I use it fairly often. It has to match though. A white shell on a nice silver truck looks like ass. I'd keep it on if it matched.

i would agree, but i just dont like it. im going to find a way to get it off of the Silver Bullet, but still keep it for hunting, fishing, and camping

silverbullet32 08-01-2009 07:59 PM

im thinkin on building a cargo rack, mount some lights to it, and then it would look better when its on, and cover the windows with decals lol

Trigger01 08-02-2009 12:03 PM

Sell it. I only like caps on lifted trucks.

BigRedDog 08-02-2009 12:20 PM

Paint it to match and then put Thule bars on it.

Then I say leave it on.

94ranger- 08-02-2009 12:22 PM

Take it off. I am also taking mine off dont like it only old people drive with camper shells

freddie 08-02-2009 01:15 PM

I like it. I think your truck looks better with the cap than without it.

well due to the fact that he is only 14 and cant drive his truck yet, i would say yes, he is calling you old. but he forgot that you are old enough to pack a gun :biggthump

Foxracin 08-09-2009 12:33 PM

Off.

RangerExtreme 08-09-2009 12:36 PM

should throw a bug shield on therre to protect your windshield...lol just kidding man...imo if you lift it keep it, and if its stay stock i'd still hold onto it and use it when ever you need it

silverbullet32 08-09-2009 01:46 PM

im not lifting at any point of my ownership of this vehicle, maybe 2" coils up front, i will just keep it on and it will look better when i get new wheels/tires and build a cargo rack for it, thanks guys
