My 02 Edge

I know it needs some work, but I love this truck. I want to swap from 2wd to 4wd. Also, I want to upgrade the motor. Not sure what I want to put in yet though. Also, need a back bumper and new blacked out headlights and turn signals.

Don't look too bad. What kinda mods do you have? Sits a little high to just have cranked t-bars.

Nick_83 02-01-2011 09:24 AM

To be quite honest, I'm not sure. I just bought it about 2 weeks ago. I have some work I have to do to it.

SteelDirigible 02-01-2011 09:25 AM

bigger tires i'd say is whats doin it.

03edge 02-01-2011 09:33 AM

looks like a good project man, not sure if you are but if you plan on doing a bodylift, id suggest this before a 4x4 swap

Nick_83 02-01-2011 09:41 AM

I just asked the guy about the lift. He said it was stock with the torsion bars cranked all the way.

01DangerRanger 02-01-2011 09:54 AM

probably have some shackles in the rear but not to bad lookin, should be fun project!

Nick_83 02-01-2011 11:02 AM

I only paid $2,500 for it so I'm pleased. Is it possible to put in a 302 and make it 4wd? I mean without spending an arm and a leg?

SteelDirigible 02-01-2011 11:24 AM

sure its possible. easiest way find a v8 AWD explorer around... and go from there.

j99ranger4x4 02-01-2011 12:15 PM

is it just me or does it look like the frame is cut off on the back end? probably y there is no bumper...

Nick_83 02-01-2011 12:18 PM

Yeah, I thought so too. And I'm guessing it's going to be really hard to try to put a bumper on cuz I'll have to have brackets or something welded on.

j99ranger4x4 02-01-2011 12:26 PM

yeah the bumper brackets mount to the frame.

StxDangerRanger 02-01-2011 12:30 PM

i'd say the easiet thing to do would put a rollpan in, but it might be hard to color match it. if defiantly looks like the bumper brackets were chopped off.

j99ranger4x4 02-01-2011 12:32 PM

yeah otherwise if nto for a rollpan, your gonna have to chop off that section of the frame and get it welded onto yours (that would be the best fix).

Nick_83 02-01-2011 12:44 PM

Anybody know where I can get said sections of the frame? Cuz I really need to put a bumper on.

sullys_ranger 02-01-2011 01:10 PM

looks good, almost considering getting rid of my wheels/tires for wheels like yours and 33s

Ranger_Guy15 02-01-2011 11:15 PM

I believe the sections of the frame that the bumper mounts to are still there.

morris 02-02-2011 12:32 AM

i wanna say that it has rear end damage from being rear ended. look at the gaps for the tailgate and the bottom parts of the quarter panels.

probably explains the cheap price too.

Nick_83 02-02-2011 11:04 AM

Meh. It doesn't bother me. It drives fine and everything. I just need a bumper.

Nick_83 02-20-2011 01:25 PM

Ok. I found this 01 ranger xlt at the jy. Can I take the front suspension and all to use to swap my truck to 4x4? I know that I'd have to get a transfer case from a truck with a 3.0 and all. Also, when I do the swap, could I do it electronic where I can just flip the switch and have it swap to 4wd?
