It is legal for us to drive it. It's not illegal to have no doors, and it still has "fenders" , aka, the wheels are set into the body just enough so that they are "covered". Other than that, the lights, horn, ect all work and it's tagged and registered

I seriously doubt driving around with no bumper is legal. I would also question the lack of doors and the lack of side mirrors.

You got me on the bumper, you do need to have a bumper. That's actually the bumper in between the seats right before it went back on though. It's legal in Texas to have no doors, as long as you have seatbelts which you have to have anyway. I'm not sure about mirrors, but the campus cops and several times tried to ticket us but haven't been able to.

haha. i actually did get pulled over for doing that. they said they can't ticket me for "being a dumb@ss driving off the main road". so they just made me sit there for like 10 minutes until the parking lot was clear.

ontopic: that car is just sick. i'm definitely forwarding this thread to friends.

Jeeps are designed to function without doors.

In texas you only need "at least one rear facing mirror" to pass inspection. I dont see why you would need a bumper or doors.

Cool ride though. id love to have something like that to rock around campus. Im thinking of fixing up a little vespa scooter or something like it for the same reason
