my buddy sank/got stuck

well me and my girlfriend were just cruisin around in the flatts and we came around this corner and i saw my buddy in his ranger and all i could see was about the driver's side half of the truck so i tried pullin on him but we didnt have any good straps so they just broke so he had to go back to his house and get his chevy with a pto winch on it which pulled it right out, well here are the pics

i never got any pics of the ranger after it got out cause it got too dark out by the time he got out

well i guess they were parked on that point and he was just turnin around and thought the water wasnt deep there but it was the channel and at the edge of the water there it was pretty much a drop off into the channel, the guy was like 6'2 and he couldnt touch on the passanger side of his truck

So how did you pull it out? Just grab the front and the rear and pull side ways? or did you just grab it from the back and hope it didn't fall in deeper? That brings back some nightmares. At work we've had some guys almost turn over some concrete trucks and I had to go organize the process of getting them out of of the ditch. There is something about a $150k truck leaning like that that gets me a little nervous.
