My Ranger: Collecting Dust

i got bored so here are a few pics of where my truck is resting till it either gets sold or gets a heart transplant. i found a motor with low miles and am going to look at it later this week. if i grab it, itll still be a while before the swap begins. but heres my rangers resting place.

and some GM content at the end of the driveway.

the white powder is absorbant, a car wrecked in our yard last week, rolled. and dumped oil and tranny fluid in the driveway.

I was following it on Facebook. I don't think he ever found the actual cause, this is what he said on Facebook:

"I just got a call saying that the clicking noise i heard was the motors begining stages of throwing a rod. the motor could seize anytime"

I don't think he got a second opinion on it

EDIT: Morgan beat me to it

Shoulda bought a 4 liter.
Just joshing. You shouldn't have a problem getting a new engine, getting it for the right price is the issue.

Would it even drive to a dealer? If it does and would last another 100 miles I would bring it there and trade it in ASAP. Thats what a relative of mine did when his transmission was going on his mustang.

i hope i can keep it. i checked out the motor today, turns ou the guy on the phone told me 33K miles were on a 4.0L not a 3.0L, they have a 3.0 with 94K.. what do you guys think.. id replace the cam synchronizer before putting it in so it wouldnt ---- up on me, put my old one on a stand and rebuild it and keep it for when i kill this one..

Why not rebuild your current one then? Can you do that work yourself?

If you can do the work yourself then it would be good. Otherwise, it would be expensive.
