New Axle Install

Last weekend I met up with Matt(OVERtheEDGE) and installed a new axle w/ 4:10's Whoopie!!!. Should have taken a few hours and, but ran into a few problems and ended up taking about 9 hours. Had a bent axle shaft in the new axle so we had to take the rearend apart after it was installed. Anyway, here are the pictures that we go, didn't take to many cause we were working(pics. courtesy of Matt).

Nice work, and the truck looks great as always. Did you just throw in the axle shaft from your old axle into the the new one? Who's shop?

Ya, we just pulled the axle shaft out of the old axle. We had a heck of a time getting it out though. We popped the diff. cover off and then started taking a screw out to get a pin out to get a c-clip out, but the screw broke, so we destroyed the gears to get the clip off just to get the axle shaft out. I ended up having to scrap the old axle. Got a lousy $10.45 for it.

We had blocks under there too just in case the lift dropped the truck a little, but it never did. The fork lifts name it Floyd...don't ask.

Ya the cutting wheel might be hard to disguise.

If I was made of money I would have done the swap already.
