New light mod courtesy buggman, inc.

So Terry aka buggman has had this for me for a while now and I finally made it down his way to meet him and swap a few things we had that the other wanted.

Main thing is my LED oval ring that I finally got and mounted up, this thing is sweet. I also got a new emblem from Terry at the same time, so that's new too.
AND I got some LED parking lamps, I like not having that amber bulb in there anymore, looks a lot cleaner. Not as bright as incandescents for sure, but they're just running lights a turn signals so I'm pleased with them.

Here's some pics of the install... daytime pics showing how it sticks out (i.e. not noticeably).

importing nighttime pics now...

I was using my dad's D300, and not sure how to set anything on it, so it went on autopilot. hard to get decent night pictures of lighting. you get the idea though.

Terry does excellent work. Are those LED parklights direct swap? I need to do SOMETHING to my park lights, either night shade or get clear ones.

yes but i need the ep27 flasher though.. i'm a little emabarrased to use my turn signals! people with think I don't take care of my truck.

he has a few more of those bulbs, i'd get in touch with him if you want some. he did say they seemed brighter in mine than in his 96, i guess because of the housing. I may try and find some brighter ones at some point in my life but i have higher priority LED swaps!

and I can't say enough about how good his work is. I got to see his shop, pretty neat, and he's got some pretty cool lighting projects he's working on. not sure if i'm at liberty to say so I won't haha.

but the little things i noticed, you can see in the pic of the ring a small lead for power, that's actually a plug into another harness he made. so if I remove the grill for whatever, I just unplug the light. came with an inline fuse too. all wires were labeled as well. nice touches that really show he puts in the extra effort.

well i actuallly traded him a 1000 ft spool of wire and some grounding straps, i think its like 30 or 35 to buy one. it was so long ago that he made it for me that i forget the original price haha. and then i bought the emblem, he may have more i dunno. price varies based on emblem haha.
totally worth it though, I love this mod. Not sure if he has done very many of them though.

I like it, but let me make one suggestion. Switchbacks

6K when parklights are on, amber when turning

got em on ebay, or you can cook yours in the oven. no problems with my ebay lights though. if you bake factory lights you'll still have that amber patch on the corner.

and yeah i'd like switchbacks, they are pretty cool. we decided to try these kind of as a test to see how they looked, he had these laying around.

It's on the verge of being tacky, but it looks really cool. Buggman does really great work!

Is it wired to the parking lamps, or do you have a separate switch to turn it on and off?

it looks much brighter in the pics than it does in real life, i know what you mean but thats why i wanted just a white and not blue or green or purple.

it is wired into the parking lamps, when they are on it is on.

HOW DID I MISS THIS THREAD?!?!?!

Man that oval ring really looks nice installed. It's hardly noticeable in the daytime pics... exactly what I was going for

Two thumbs up for SteelyD too. Nice guy, nice truck (I'm jealous )

Those yellow turn signal led's look pretty nice too.
I gotta get you an ep27 flasher so people don't point & giggle at your fast flashing lights

I think I've got a thread here for the led oval rings for you guys who'd like one... I can do a few different colors & sizes, but I'm not sure what your local laws will say about using alternate color lights on the front of your trucks.
The ring can be connected with your parking lights, a simple switch in the cab or pretty much anything you can come up with.
They take some time to make, so please be patient

i'm wanting to try some more led's for the rear stop/turn/tail reverse lights, these look different/interesting, so might give em a shot

LOL, I was just thinking the same thing.
You're gonna need a trailer to haul all that stuff.

I've got an extra pair of 63 led 3157's if you want to try them out... I'm waiting on an order for a set of 100+ led red 3157's too, can't wait to see how those work out.

I can't believe those headlight bulbs don't throw out more light in your reverse lights though... maybe some H3 bulbs would have a better pattern?
