"New" A.R.E. canopy/topper for the F150
I picked up a used A.R.E. Z-series canopy for the F150 yesterday. I loved the cover I had on before, but a canopy better suits my needs. This one was a little rough, I think because it was stored on it's side. I washed and waxed it yesterday, buffed out some red paint (from laying against a shed for a while), and put some touch up paint on it today.
I also filled the cracks between the metal panels in the bed with white caulk, leaving a couple of drain holes, but sealing out more dust.
Eventually I will tint the windows to match the back doors on the truck (15% over stock) and will build something in back, some sort of sleeping/camping platform. I have a few ideas but I'm not 100% set on anything yet.
I'm also playing with the idea of keeping my Yakima Megawarrior, but I would have to come up with a mount that would not add any height when the rack is off.

Thanks guys. I normally expect about a 50/50 mix of opinions when it comes to a canopy, lol.
I also think it looks better with it off, but I know the cap on the ranger grew on me and I thought the truck looked weird without it, so whatever.
This will give me a good place to crash on over-night trips and stuff.

How far do the mounts for the megawarrior stick up? Even a few inches wouldn't hurt the looks or the function. I'd rather the mounts add a little high on the rack so it wouldn't sag down and touch the top of the cap.

Shouldn't be a problem, if I made a mount atleast 6-12" from the back edge.
The rack normally mounts on crossbars, so I would have to make my own mounts some how. I have some ideas, but not the tools and material to do it.

The problem is that I park it in the garage. As you can see in the pics, my driveway is super steep. As I back in, the top rear part of the canopy clears by about 1/4", before the rear tires hit the 'flat' part of the garage and the back of the canopy comes back down closer to ride height.
