Just bought another Ranger. This one is a 2002 Edge with 3.0 V6 automatic and has over 300k miles on her. Wheels doent come with it so I am shopping for wheels. Currently looking at 5 spoke 16inch Sport Trac wheels or older 5 oval 15inch Explorer wheels.
Today i swapped wheels with both of the trucks and im glad i did. The Edge looks better with those wheels. The Edge is pretty much all fixed up and ready for a long road trip up north next month. New brakes, balljoints, radiator, axle, seals, trans flush, p/w steering flush, fixed rough idle issue which was MAF sensor gone bad, tune up, and lots of cleaning. I still have a slight idle roughness but that may be either the aftermarket IAC valve or one of the injectors on the driver side bank that is dirty. I purchased a set of 3 and plan to swap out next few weeks.
The white one which was a complete rebuild last year has devoloped lots of issues lately. PCV valve was stuck and caused blown rear and front seals so its leaking like crazy. Also losing coolant and found that my coolant leak is from the intake passenger side water jacket. I can see the intake gasket pushed out. Never seen such a thing. Whats worse is that its still burning oil on this new engine and i suspect its the valve stem seals as it puffs out smoke after sitting for a while. Machine shop stated they will warranty the refurbed heads if i pull them off. So it looks like i have 2 choices. I pull the engine back out or i pull the heads and than pull transmission to fix rear main seal...
