new tails/modding trailer hitch
Finally getting around to taking some pics of the new taillights and the body work done.
Still need to get the billet steps put on. need to grind out a little where the bolts are to get the plate to side flush on the bedside.
and then this past weekend, i started modding my trailer hitch to go back on. with the new bed, the roll pan hangs too low, and i'm too poor to buy an actual hidden hitch. so i'm modifying mine.
before:
unbolted:
one side cut:
set back in place, clamped in:
out, clamped together. gives you an idea how far up and back it has been moved:
waiting on a new cord to show up for my drill. then i'll get the holes in it and bolted back together. then i can cut the hole behind the tag. already have the flip down tag holder on.

finishing of the body work. the handles/emblems have been shaved, but needs another skim of filler and blocked out. need to shave the 3rd brake light, cab seams, and replace the core support. possibly shaving gas tank door as well.
here is the rough plan for this summer (assuming all goes well). get my 93 on the road, take 95 off road. stroked small block going in 95, b2 tank, raised bed floor, narrowed rear, and possible z on the front (staying static). when i do the motor swap and z, the cab will be removed, sent off to get the engine bay repainted, then go from there. they guy that did the bed will do the paint. i traded him upholstery work for the body work, so hoping he may have some more for me.

Got my hitch all buttoned up and even tested. A friend gave me two old mowers last weekend. Towed them about 60 miles back home. worked great.
bolted up and ready to go back in
bolted to the frame:
hole cut in the roll pan:
lines up perfect!
had to trim it out a little bigger to get to the pin:
outside shots:
can just barely see it:
