Me and my buddy michael just went out trail riding today outta being pure bored and took these two pictures with my camera phone and well im using photobucket but it wont let me load one of these pictures as my avatar even though i have it resized..

but tell me what yall think of bama trails.. well the little bit you can see lol

yea them hill are alot steeper and rutted up then they look in the pictures like my buddys Zr2 with a 2in body n 33's was bottoming out lol and miraculously i havent yet

That pic looks like most of the driveways around here. lol Not saying the trail isn't rough, just saying there's some screwed up driveways around here. looks like fun tho'.

I imagine you've got a lot of sand down there tho', am I right? up here it's all red clay. That sand is a lot different driving, I learned that real quick when I was in Florida.

Nice looking truck, I think it would pass for mines twin, if I had the tires and you had a winch anyway.

haha well yea its red clay for sure hard as a rock and off to the side theirs a wash out about 5 feet deep a guy rolled his 4 runner in it last weekend not exactly my kinda driveway that hill is about 75 or 80 degree's up and the one with the roots and tree is almost literaly a 90 degree i have to get on it going up it cuz my front tires will make it up then ill just start burning out lol but theirs a trick to that one hill get on the edge of it ontop of the roots and go a moderate speed and your passenger side tires will have something to grab

 

I figured it would be more sandy than clay that far south, guess not.

lol, there's not any driveways around here as steep as that second pic, but that first pic is what most of them around here look like, about a 45 degree hill is the most I've seen on a road, BUT, it was in someones driveway, no gravel just clay. lol

Up here where I live about 30% of the county roads are still gravel, there's some county roads that look as bad as that trail in the first pic.

 

well i was saying them hills are clay but at the bottom of the two hills is a small pit about 50 yards long and its full of sand actualy nothing but sand and mud and if you stop 4x4 or not your gonna sink to the frame very quick... especially if your cocky and think you can stop the pedal to the floor thinking youll dig your way out... loll nononononono watched many of people sink and ive got over 30 under my belt from just pulling people outta that sand in that one spot it is seriously a sink hole but ive only got stuck 1 time when i was pulling my buddy's z71 out

Yep, sand is hole different game from clay, when I was in Florida I worked for a peat mine, so driving in the sand and peat was required, I thought I could take my truck through it, made it about 300ft and bottomed out.lol

Luckily the company provided a truck, it was a f-150 with a 4" lift and 35x12.5 tires, I loved that truck, not because of the lift or tires, but because of the King ranch package it had, it was a 2005 and when I left in Jul of 08 it looked like ****, we tore it to pieces driving it through that mess, sad really that such a great truck was used for that, but it was there money and they spent it the way they wanted to, even tho' I was the one that got to enjoy the truck. lol

 

ya well if its not 90 its almost strait up and down my valance touches sometimes when i start to go up it and my bumper scoops up a bit of sand when i start goin up it its a pretty mean hill the other one isnt that bad it just has alot of wash outs that make you feel like you about to flip


thats sad about that f150 =( i couldnt destroy a truck like that i just dont have it in me unles it was just a beater..

 

did that brush guard come made for four lights or did you drill more holes to fit them?

 

Yea, I don't know why they wanted to use such a nice truck for that, but I still had a **** eating grin on my face that you couldn't have wiped off with a ball bat when they handed me the keys. lol

 

yea i drilled out holes to accept the lights i tried to make them even as possible but i couldnt cuz i had a crappy drill and it was hard to drill strait down when you have to drill at a angle but they came out ok.... i wish id done better and their procomp 6in fog's 28$ a piece their well worth the 28$

and id have a heart attack were i stood if they handed me the keys to something like that bu the thing about it is... if youd had to drive your truck youd be tearing up your dd

the tires are amazing off-road but on road their actualy very good too just vibrates everything around 0-15 mph haha but you wont notice it that much if you have sub's in your truck but i love them just keep them rotated and they will last forever im working up on mileage on them i dont remember exactly how much but i believe around 18k or a lil more on them and still 2/3in of tread left

 

well yall keep looking out because im thinking this Christmas ima i make a how-to on how to install skyjacker softride 6in lift springs and also have a build thread for a rack ima make that comes off the bed and will support a roof rack so i can put a spare tire fog lights and ect... and still be able to have my tool box

 

yea all we have is sand and nasty *** mud, id kill for a trail like that, those are so fun...

 

I wanted to drive my truck, they said it would tear it up and bought the 150 as a company truck of sorts, I took it home with me when I left and everything, they paid for gas, insurance, up keep, all of it.

I'm glad they told me not to drive my truck and got the f-150, I went through 3 or 4 transfer cases, a few drive shafts, 2 or 3 fenders were replaced then I said screw it and just drove it with them tore up, the company offered to fix them but I told them they would just get bent and tore up again, I couldn't begin to tell you how many tires I busted on logs and various other things in that peat.

All of that in 120,000 miles. lol None of it was on purpose, but when you have to do it everyday you break ****.
