Played in the woods yesterday.

Used two toys yesterday to get firewood for next season drug out. Ranger did pretty well towing somewere between 3500 and 4000 lbs. Didnt forget it was there though. Even on the flat it was in overdrive though, but it fought to maintain speed on little hills I pushed the Od button to keep revs up. Couple hills second was all it would do. If I was going farther I wouldve used the bigger truck. More hitch weight wouldve helped the blade was taking to much weight off the tongue. Tractor's tires are loaded, it ll pull a whole tree most of the time.

How it sits...is all based on how you load the trailer...I could put that same tractor behind a f150 and make it squat like crazy...Depending on how you load it...All about weight distribution....

Your right I d have liked more hitch weight, but I couldnt get it with that trailer. Road was dry and I took it really easy around turns not braking in turns, I didnt need to jack knife it.lol.I expected it to sway some from the lack of hitch weight but it didnt. My popup camper almost jackknifed me once in the rain and it s alot lighter.
Tractor is tires are against the front it wouldnt go on facing forwards, blade wont go in the trailer. I wanted the blade on to push trees around with and front end protection in the woods.

Thanks guys. The blade goes clear to the rear hitch and weights 500 Lbs. putting in the bed is not a option. Its all 1/4 inch plate all the way back. Good Idea though.
The Tractor is an 1982 with 2000 hours on it. My dad has taken good care of it. Its a Yanmar diesel so its just broke in.

I have pulled a 27 foot boat with my ranger before... granted I never left my property, but it can be done. Its actually amazing what these little Fords can do.

In my owners manual with 4.10 gears which is what I have it says itll pull 5500. hahahahah. I would never try it thats for sure. The 750 was a big enough load for me and the Ranger and its brakes. I only took the tractor 5 miles from home if I was going farther I would have taken the F150. Its rated to tow 7500 but I ve towed right around 8000 with it alot farther and it felt very comfortable trailer brakes make all the difference though.
