R.I.P. my friend

bad news guys....

truck got hit....head on.

i was coming home with my GF from dinner, went to pass a lady doing 45 in a 60 on a long curve.
when another car came around the corner.
i nailed the brakes to slow down but the car i was trying to pass did too, so they stayed next to me and i couldn't come back over to the right lane.

i swerved over to the shoulder to try and stop in some farmers driveway when i see these 2 headlights coming right at me.....

apparently the other car swerved onto the shoulder too

all we could do was brace for impact....

WE BOTH HAD OUR SEATBELTS ON!

The other car (chevy cobalt)...everyone walked away fine....the driver had some airbag burns and one passenger had a bloody nose

my GF broke the passenger window with her forehead and i broke my bottom gauge cluster off with my shin and smacked the dash with my hand pretty good, my hand is all swollen.

the truck is totaled...not a straight piece on it except for the tailgate
(my buddy is going to hang it up in his bar for me)

My gf was taken to the hospital for head trauma...(shes okay)
i was fine, just a little seatbelt bruising and a few cuts

once i found out she was okay, the emt's were just being cautious, she just had a minor cut on her head, no trauma

all i could do was cry over my truck....its beyond repair of any kind
i spent today salvaging what i could....

last weekend

Man, I am so sorry to hear about that. Your truck was one of my favorites.

I am EXTREMELY glad you and your girlfriend are ok. You can replace the truck. You can't replace a life.

Wow. As long as you guys are ok that's all that matters. Just a little life lesson I guess. Can't wait to see what you get next!

I'm glad everybody was ok. Accidents suck! Now you can get another first gen and drop a 5.0 in it so you won't have to stay very long in the passing lane, zip on by.....

we had more than one EMT and firefighter tell us that if it wasn't for the old metal truck and the seatbelts, we would probably have been killed or severely injured

no plastic bumpers for me
