what other options do i have for a grill? how hard/expensive is a front end swap to the newer style grill bumper assembly? or is it even possible

The front end swap isn't too difficult you would just need a lot more.

Bumper, valance, grill, headlights, corners, wiring, header panel, fenders.

I think the 94 front end actually looks good on your truck. I would clean the headlights though, and maybe get some clear corners.

That is a Splash. It needs the factory Splash grill. They come already painted to match from Ford. I had to buy one once because a run away grocery cart knocked my white 93 Splash grill out. The Splash needs to be color keyed, not murdered.

Perfect. Update your pics with the freshly painted gloss black grill and night shaded the ford oval.

I see you got rid of the painted bumper and Splash mirrors. It looks like a nice XLT to me now.
