thats right, i had a deer encounter this morning, actually its not that bad, i took it to a body shop, and they quoted me $1,400 worth of damage, but with my deductible the way it is, its not even worth reporting it, i am actually in the process of repairing the alignment pins on the headlight, and it cracked the header panel a little bit, but not too bad

that sux

SVT01RANGER 08-02-2010 04:34 PM

i'm hoping that JB weld sticks to that headlight, i would have to have to crack open another set of headlights just to mod them...

i also thought that the impact killed one of my HID's, but i just did a test of them, and both the ballast, and 4300K bulb are just fine

morris 08-02-2010 05:21 PM

where is the $1400 at?

SVT01RANGER 08-02-2010 05:32 PM

thats what i'd like to know

GrafixGuy 08-02-2010 06:56 PM

that looks like maybe $300 bucks...

FULLSCALE 08-02-2010 07:00 PM

Coulda been alot worse! $1400 sounds about right... doesn't take long to add up if you need a headlight, corner light, header panel... then you have to figure in the labor to fix that fender, paint and put it all back together!

ES894x4 08-02-2010 07:10 PM

hope it was delicious

ShadowRanger08 08-02-2010 07:42 PM

haha I don't see the $1,400 at all. sucks that it happened but hopefully you can fix it yourself pretty good for cheap

Taylor 08-02-2010 07:48 PM

BAD DEER. dont hit anything i love your truck.

SVT01RANGER 08-02-2010 09:27 PM

believe me the last thing i wanted to do was hit a deer, but that little prick came out of no where

SVT01RANGER 08-02-2010 09:28 PM

well just checked on the JB weld job on the headlight housing, its been 7 hours since i did that, and it seems pretty solid, i will give it another day to fully cure

KLC 08-02-2010 09:50 PM

Doesn't look too bad.

rstangboi 08-03-2010 02:40 AM

that sucks...

How i hate accidents.... i wish my accident was as bad as yours lol

SVT01RANGER 08-03-2010 07:13 AM

i just checked on the headlight repair, and its solid

Dangerranger01 08-03-2010 07:35 AM

Definitely keep an eye on the jb weld over time. Plastics are really hard to glue together.

And i know what you mean about that deer, luckily, all the stupid deer i see slowly walk away from the highway. But going 60-65mph it scares you.

01RangerEdge 08-03-2010 07:46 AM

Hope you ate that deer. I got hit a couple years ago in the drivers side where the fender meets the door

$1400 sounds like a lot, but hopefully you can get some of that done yourself and pocket the cash

gts007 08-03-2010 04:18 PM

pics of the deer? lol

btm757 08-03-2010 05:01 PM

Did you at least get the deer processed all up to eat

I can see $1400

Headlight
Corner
Header Panel
Fender and if not fender then the time for someone to fix the smashed part
Paint
Labor for it all

justinkeoughan 08-03-2010 05:33 PM

That greasy Deer. Thank god we dont have deer moose or anything of the sort. The Biggset thng we encounter is a Fox or a Racoon. Although a Black Crow is know for causing the most damage here.. PRICKS... JB Weld is nifty stuff lol.

i don't see it, they wanted to repair the header panel, they wanted to replace a perfect corner light, replace the bumper cover, repair the fender, i just put the headlight back in after letting it set up over night, the only ugly spot is under the headlight, when i get more time i will clean up the fiberglass, and probally do a vinyl wrap on that piece to clean it up
