I have seen some lifted Crew Cab Colorados and they look good. I'd rock one.

Oh yeah. I think its funny how a 5 banger makes more power than the 4.0. HAHA!

Look at the dyno charts though. That I-5 needs to really crank up some RPMs to make the power they say they do. And when ti gets there they sound like crap. When I had my '03 4.0 auto 2wd scab ranger, it would walk all over my buddy's '07 2wd colorado with the crew cab and I-5 without a problem. I would like to attribute some of that to driving effort too, lol. But seriously if side by side and both just matted, the ranger pulls away until it hits the speed limiter at 92.

The Colorado is a bigger and heavier truck so it will be a tad slower than the Ranger. Either way Ford still makes the lowest power in this class.

yeah i second that. my buddy and i test drove a brand new one and i was very unimpressed with the power of its inline 5. on paper it beats the ranger, but in real life it doesnt beat anything, it was so lame it was laughable. i give them props for the crew cab, but thats it. it looks like an izuzu (becuause izuzu designed it) and the interiors are ugly and in stock form they have nothing for ground clearance. i thought it was a mistake that GM got rid of the S10/ Sonoma platform. at least those trucks were decent looking and performing.

i just went to their website, in the 09s, you can get a 5.3 V8! i wouldnt ever want ti bc i loeath Chevy, but i think that if Ford took The curent Ranger and give it some options like sync, power seats and stuff like that and a V8 option, their sales would go crazy! heck just having a V8 option would make their sales go through the roof!

2 words. Sport Trac. A V8 Ranger will never be made. Everyone wants a V8 Ranger but who has the money to actually buy one because you know the price will be jacked up. How many of you would actually drop the Ranger you have now for a V8 Ranger if Ford started making them?

the only chevy in those pictures that is worth anything is the camaro in the back ground.

unless of course it is a V6 (but it looked like a V8 with the wheels that are on it and the z28 bages on the side, it looks like the LT1 cars which are still cool) then there is no good chevy in those pictures

good looking ranger btw.... i think the wheels and hood are what make the colorado look bad. i do like the option of 4 doors on the colorado but it cuts down on how long the bed of the truck is. i regularly put dirt bikes and street bikes in the bed of my ranger and that short bed would not cut it.

RANGER FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell Ford that. Its still the 4 door V8 Ranger for the US that everyone wants.

if the sport trac is the 4 door V8 ranger that everyone wants dont you think that everyone would have them? they are not the same, frames different, rear suspension is different, less ground clearance, lame exploder front end. its a totally different platform

But its v8 and 4 door. That's what everyone on here wants. See why Ford would never make a V8 Ranger? There is no market for it. Yeah the Sport Trac is not a Ranger but it meets the V8 requirement and 4 door requirement that everyone wished Ford did to the Ranger but no one buys it. So why make it?

I'd rather have a Ridgeline over a Sport Trac any day. All I'm saying is that the truck of everyone's dreams is available but no one buys it.

How many V8 Colorados have you seen on the street? 0-1. Now how many Colorado owners do you think wanted a V8 in their trucks? No one buys the vehicles they say they want manufactures to build.

I like both trucks. Only thing I don't like about the Ranger is the clear corners.

I looked at and test drove a 05 Colorado. I liked the interior, but it had crappy power, and it's sound was annoying.

ohhhh i just built a 09 Colorado.

Orange, crew cab, black interior, tonneau cover, trailer package, sunroof, 5.3 V8, front bucket seats with MP3 player.

At $29,000 I'd buy it if I had the money. lol.

Not really actually. I'm starting to realize why car companies don't build certain things.

yeah and there are reasons for that. mainly the weight class. the ranger is in a lighter weight class than the colorado and the sport trac, and within those weight classes they are only allowed a certain amount of horsepower/ displacement. (something to do with the federal auto insurance bureau or some crap like that) the ranger is just in too light of a weight class. at least thats what i was told by ford a couple years ago when i inquired about it. it could be total BS, who knows.
