what is the difference between the SD third light and the rangers cuz mine looks like the SD one

 

they are more 'clear' and crisp looking than the ranger 3rd brake light. I did that mod on my 2000 and a lot of guys liked it..

 

Look at Shanes in the previous pics. That's why I posted those two.. Shane has the SD 3rd and it's A LOT clearer and brighter than the Ranger one. It's actually really hard to find, only comes on the 07 and 08's so far.... The cargo lamps are a lot brighter!

 

Ranger 3rd brake light is on bottom. You should be able to find the F250/350 3rd lamp on 05+ trucks..

BJ, shane and I went to the JY the other day and even looking at 05 and 06 we didn't see them... Only ones we had any luck on was the one he pulled his off of and the 08's that were resellable lol...

Sir...you were my "inspiration". Took me about 10 months to actually find one of them suckers!! Even went as far as ordering one from 3 different dealerships....part numbers are the same believe it or not. And each one was exactly like the stock ranger one. Stumbled upon this one at my local LKQ yard yard looking at a ranger...not bad for $10 right?

I had my decal guy down the street cut them for me. I used to sell them, but don't anymore. There's like 10 members here with my decals on their trucks....

What Bwester04 said...plus....side by side comparison shows that the SD third brake it brighter and more brilliant than a brand new ranger third brake. Almost LED looking kinda. I love it!

You know....i've seen 05+ with them....and i've seen 05+ without those neato lights. it's weird. I couldn't find a part number for them either...ford lists the third brake light for an 08 as the same as a ranger. Even at the JY, we looked at like 5 05's and up, and only 2 had them...but no for pulling...the entire rigs were for sale.

Here's my own comparo shot...between a brand spankin' new ranger/super duty third vs. the "highly sought after" SD one.....

 

Honestly I'm not a fan of them... I hate mudflaps personally.... But I got pulled over in the small town I go to school in and they know like everyone here. So if you don't get them fixed, it's a ticket...

So with that said I had a buddy of mine give me his SD flaps he didn't have on his truck anymore and made those work! If I had to rock any flaps it'd be these. They'll come off during the summer though, just have to be on during the school year...

Plus they're like $60 flaps!

 

shane man, I love you truck. It looks so slick. It's my favorite ranger, no doubt. Some day (this summer I hope_) I'm goin to do a BL and I hope it looks half as good as yours...
