some random stuff

Was just doing a little work on the truck this afternoon.

First thing was finding out why one of my fog lights wasn't working.

Turns out this is why.

Noticing the puddles under the fog light lenses will lead you to learn why the bulb exploded. They were filled up with water obviously.

Did the air box mod while I was at it. By the way, you CAN do it without removing the box from the truck. It's a little tricky, but I managed to wiggle it out without breaking anything. Immediately noticed it to be a little louder and throttle response seems better, as I also put my K&N back in.

I got some 9005 Silverstar Ultras I'm going to put in my fogs and see how those are since my yellow ones are blown up now.

I like the no bumper look too. Needs just a little something to finish it off though.

He has the biggest looking 31's I've ever seen. Not sure what it is about the tires or truck but they look huge.

Haha yeah they do look pretty big for 31s.

Here's a pic of mine against one with 33s. Not much of a difference.

Here's a few more shots with my dad's truck and my bumper reinstalled with the Silverstar Ultras. They're pretty damn bright! I did the 9005 mod. Had to cut out the tabs inside the socket and trim the locking tabs.

Tube bumper FTW! ...eventually.

As for my wheels looking huge....I just have the bars cranked 2 turns and I don't even have my shackles on yet. The blue one in the pic above has a t bar crank, shackles and 33s, yet sits almost the same as mine.

And yes jimmeh, the water was from the mob sesh. Remember the pics of the blue truck going through that huge water hole? That's where the water came from.

We're going there again tomorrow and I'm taking my bumper off this time lol.

You should definitely try and seal them up somehow so you don't blow your Silverstars.

Easy. Remove two 17mm bolts, slide bumper off, problem solved.

Now here's a question for you guys. What's a good way to dry the leftover moisture in my lenses?

If you seal them up better you won't have to take it off or you can turn them off so when water hits a cold bulb they won't blow up.
