Stuck It

Long story short: Don't drive where a pond used to be.
7000lbs + E rated street tires + 70psi + limited slip rear + open front = stuck

Another '09 Super Duty pulled me out. The driver's rear tire was off the ground and the truck was starting to lean pretty good. I decided to quit because it was pretty obvious I wasn't driving out of this one under my own power.

1st stuck in the new truck.

Yeah, no damage other than getting totally owned out there.

The massive front air dam looks slightly tweaked, but nothing major at all. I think I'm going to get the one of the 2wd air dams- they're MUCH shorter and will hopefully be more out of the way off road.

My dads 08 350 has that ugly front air dam on his too. I was gonna take it off but he said Ford put it on after having the trucks in production for a few months to solve some issue they were having. Correct me if im wrong

Ford started putting the bigger air dams on the 4wd trucks in late '08 to help with mileage. The 2wd trucks have a 2" air dam while the 4wd trucks now get the 6" part. I don't see how the part helps fuel mileage at all. Let's face it- it's a 3.5 ton brick going down the road.

the reason the bigger damn helps with mileage is cause not as much air is pushed under your truck

i however agree with you that its bs .... i hear of honda guys (yea im one of those but at least i have a truck now) with a lower lip and the car being slammed claiming a 2 mpg icrease but i have yet to see numbers proving it
