talkin bout the back. the front isnt that light. but youre going to have to do alot to get it to come out on the lighter end once you put the 5.4 and d60 in there. heavy suckas. youre gonna have to do some strippin down or somethin.

pull your dash and everything inside and just run aluminum prp seats. hehe

If I tube the whole thing I should loose some weight. but its still going to be heavy no matter what. I was looking at trying some RCV shafts in 4340 or 300m with CVs instead of ujoints on the D44, they are guaranteed to not break they say.

just like a birfield in a toyota axle right? im willing to bet if you get that pitbull bound up in the right way and put the torque of a 5.4 on it, itll snap. ill put money on it. but hey, if they have a good warranty and will replace it, why not?

oh im sure something will snap, right now the only reason the current one are failing is because the ujoints go. plus the price of these custom axles is 1000, and i can barely get a heavily used D60 for that. it would be worth a try.

Haha. The shafts are garaunteed not to break... so instead you will probably just start tearing ring and pinnions out of it!

If your going to run 42 and a V8 you need a 60. Theres really no way around it.

yeah i know, if you fix one thing just the next weakest thing is going to break. maybe a D60 will just fall in front of my face for a good price. I am always keeping my eyes open for one though.

well the 80-whenevers are pretty easy.

I want a 78-79 D60 because of the longer drivers side axle tube.

Those arent for regular D44's they are only for jeep applications. The hole in the knuckle isnt big enough on a standard D44 for them.
