Wellsville, Ohio Trail run
pull your dash and everything inside and just run aluminum prp seats. hehe
If I tube the whole thing I should loose some weight. but its still going to be heavy no matter what. I was looking at trying some RCV shafts in 4340 or 300m with CVs instead of ujoints on the D44, they are guaranteed to not break they say.
just like a birfield in a toyota axle right? im willing to bet if you get that pitbull bound up in the right way and put the torque of a 5.4 on it, itll snap. ill put money on it. but hey, if they have a good warranty and will replace it, why not?
oh im sure something will snap, right now the only reason the current one are failing is because the ujoints go. plus the price of these custom axles is 1000, and i can barely get a heavily used D60 for that. it would be worth a try.

If your going to run 42 and a V8 you need a 60. Theres really no way around it.
yeah i know, if you fix one thing just the next weakest thing is going to break. maybe a D60 will just fall in front of my face for a good price. I am always keeping my eyes open for one though.
they must be hard to find up there. i could probably get you one for around 500 down here. youd just have to make the drive or get i shipped.. my buddy stumbles across them all the time. i know where there is a whole early 90s f350 for sale for a grand. kingpin d60/sterling 10.25, i think it may even be deisel. trying to get my buddy to buy it and part it out cuz he wants the rear axle for the vss. lol
If your serious about it, i can put in a couple phone calls for you. Should be able to find a ford for around 500... ish.
I am serious, if you can find one for 500ish ill send the cash today, i dont know that i can pick it up this weekend or something but I am sure there is something we can work out if you know of some.

i would. that think would be pimp if it was a diesel. i bet that tick is nothing more than an exhaust leak. buy it!
i think i saw the brown ranger in either petersens or off-road in the most recent issues.
i was reading about those in off road as well, they seem pretty sweet.

Those arent for regular D44's they are only for jeep applications. The hole in the knuckle isnt big enough on a standard D44 for them.
