went 4x4ing with my buddy and his girl... end result, 1 broken truck, $172 fine

so i went back to my local mudhole, with my buddy troy and his girl connie... he left his sport trac at home this time, and brought his girl's jeep cherokee... got a good few pics, and a good few videos... pics first... the first set of my truck flexed out were before i picked him up...

then we started doing some wheeling, the videos, chronologically, go in here this is where i got stuck... we hooked the jeep up to pull me backwards out of here.. you will see what happened in a bit...

and then the wind died down, and i started trying to get reflection pics...

and then the 2 pics that i am debating over, for the photo contest

videos:
can be seen here: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

or here:

so after i got stuck here, like i said above, we hooked the jeep up to my truck, to pull me back through the water, as the "shore" was very shallow on that end and a steep drop (what i got hung up on) on this side... we should have recorded me getting pulled out, it would have made for an awesome video... as she was putting tension on the line, there was a very loud bang, followed by a HUGE cloud of what they thought was smoke, but from me sitting in my truck, looking back at them, i could see the coolant pouring out of the grill... and the reason for that, is as follows...

Name: photo2-43.jpg
Views: 161
Size: 85.8 KB

Name: photo3-29.jpg
Views: 180
Size: 110.2 KB

so we had to call troy's roommate who brought his sport trac back to where we were, to pull me out, i hooked the jeep up to my truck and pulled the jeep back to the road (it was all dry, hard packed dirt... got back to the road, sat there waiting for AAA to show up to tow the jeep home, and the police roll around, hassled us, took our licenses registration and insurance papers, which it turns out, i did not have my insurance papers, so they gave me a 172$ fine for it...

lol nah, we got it fixed last night, he had just put that rad in, turns out, it has a lifetime waranty on it! so we took it back, got a new one, and *****ed, they ended up giving us a gallon of coolant for free too

i doubt it... their quote, here, is like 15 a month, and if they can't make that, there are bigger issues than not making their quota... she was just a *****

hell ya!

that jeep is going to be lifted, mud tires, it's going to be built as a 4x4, that you can drive on the road to go 4x4ing, so you don't need to have a trailer and another vehicle... but as it sits, yeah, stock

true... i found my 33x12.5 km2's for $192 each, plus like $300 shipping from Nevada? plus the 3" BL i think i found for $225 or something like that... plus mounting and balancing, plus new rims, i want a set o 15x10, but it depends on what i find and what they look like... i wish my alcoas were 15x10...

turns out, tirerack.com has them backordered... not expected to be in till may 8th...

I've been in the no papers situation before. Back in Ontario, you have 72 hours to show up at the cop station or donut shop to show them your papers and they drop the fine.....you should check into it.

they have 2 charges here... no insurance, which she COULD have charged me with, then my truck gets towed, and impounded... the fine on that is $2850 or 30 days in jail, and if you prove you have insurance, the charges get dropped... then there is fail to produce "paperwork" which could be registration, drivers license, or insurance card... 172 each...

the police out here are dicks about that charge, i've gotten it 3 times now... never a warning...

back home (british columbia) i've been pulled over in my mustang tonnes of times... and almost never had any paperwork for my car with me... and never gotten a ticket for it, just a breif, "fyi, you could get a ticket for that... " this one lectured me, and gave me a ticket... pisses me off

Wheeling looks like fun.
Sucks about the Radiator and the Ticket though.

About the Emblem on your grille.
It is tricky to get that emblem off. You kinda got to pry on it a few different angles and wiggle it... It took me about 30mins then a guy from the body shop at the dealer where i used to work got it off in like a minute. It pissed me off that he got it off so quick...
