The Wrangler has left the building....
I couldn't stand paying for 13 mpg anymore. I also couldn't find the right deal on an American made car. Sorry detroit, maybe in a few years.
Anyway, I bought a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. I bought the 2.5S with the CVT tranny. I specifically bought the model with the hubcaps since I'll be replacing the wheels anyway and it saved me money. Mods planned in the future are roof spoiler, trunk spoiler (maybe), intake, fog lights, and getting my xm put back in. I'm really impressed with the ride and the 31 mpg on the highway. A few pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/08Coupe3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/08Coupe2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/08Coupe1.jpg Don't count me out of a 4x4 just yet though. In about a year I'm going to start looking for a used Ranger or another Jeep. I just can't see having one as my DD anymore. Cheers... |
congrats, good lookin car, i myself am also looking at a nissan, either a frontier or xterra
|
nice looking car, we all may be driving something like that in a few years anyway, but i love the coupe's, good purchase!
|
Those Altima's are cool cars, had the oppertunity to drive an 08 3.5L coupe last week. That CVT is the weirdest thing I have experienced. I still can't get over the fact you don't feel it. Not as peppy as I woulda wanted it to be, but still quick!
|
I agree about the lack of muscle car pep. I feel if I had that I'd waste gas anyway! :p
It's a great car, the cvt is awesome, no spring back like the older ones had. You step on the gas and it responds. |
Long time no hear, JiveTurkey!
If you don;t mind me asking, what did they give you for your Jeep or did you sell it privately? |
I put $1200 down. They gave me $17000 for the jeep. I took a hit, not a big one, but a hit I could justify. Just on my pre purchse figures alone I'm saving $90.00 a month in gas.
I figured that over the next 12-24 months I only need to make a few extra payments, re-amortize the loan, and then I'll be way ahead of where I was in the Wrangler. The SUV market is in a nosedive right now and as gas prices get higher I could have expected to get 12-13k for my jeep this time next year and only be a few grand down on the loan payoff. |
Dude thats a nice ass car if I had money I would buy one!

Looks like the Z's more mature sibling..
Congrats on the new car! |
Nice. Good idea on the hubcab things. Get you some factory color matched rims with chrome lip. :)
|

I can get some interior shots today I hope. Busy schedule lined up for memorial day. |
Nice car! Definitely will be better on gas.
CVT huh? I'm still on the fence on those things. I know they work and how they work, but I just still question the durability overall. Let us know how having one is long term. |
nice car... my neighbor has one and it is pretty quick
|
First mod already planned tomorrow. Ordering either one of these in 17" with new Yoko rubber. I'm not going to 18's because I want that extra sidewall for the sh*tty roads around here. I want the first ones but will take the second if I can't get the other ones.

Motegi and Enkei are both great brands, smart idea witht he sidewall. Someone I know has some 215/30/18's and he is so scared of bending his rims.
|
I went with the FF7 and yoko as430 tires. Should be in tomorrow or Friday.
My xm/pioneer install will be like $440 but I'll get bluetooth and my xm back. I should have that ordered tonight. Then the mods will be done for a while. I'm not sure if I want the spoilers on the rear window and trunk yet. I need to see more pics as they come out on other coupes. |
