1988 Ranger 2.0

Hey fellas. I've got an 88 Ranger 2WD 5-speed with the 2.0. The truck has a little over 350k on it. Everything but the body on the truck is very solid, its just got a lot of dents and a little rust. Anyways, its still on its factory engine/tranny. It runs pretty good, its low on power but not anymore than a good running 2.0 would be haha. Anyways, Its developing some top end ticking before it builds some oil pressure (always takes about 10 seconds) but then its pretty quite. It does seem to be developing a slight top end tick though recently. I'm thinking its a lifter but I'm not sure. Do you guys have any input on this? I'd like to fix it but at this point Im not sure if it would be worth it to just wait until she finally dies and put in a remaned' 2.3. Thanks.
