1991 ranger problems
1991 ranger problems
Got a 91 ranger 4cyl 5 speed. Last week it started acting stupid. I was out all morning drivin around then all of the sudden im coming to a stop at a stop light and the truck dies. I restart it and it dies. It started back up and died again when I came to the next light. i could keep it running if I kept it above 2k but when it came to an idle it died. I got to the auto parts store and it wouldnt start back up at all. I have been working on this thing all day I have had the coils and ignition module tested. Replaced the wires, plugs and wires were replaced 15,000 miles ago. Any suggestions/
will the IAC cause the truck not to fire. It will not start at all. I have tested everything coils, module, fuel pressure. If the IAC will keep it from starting I will check into that. If its not that what else could it be?
Crank sensor?
Does it have spark?
Age of timing belt? Might have stretched and skipped some teeth. It happens.
I can't believe an IAC would not let it run at all. Poor idle, fast idle, but not run? Not hanging much hope on the IAC causing this problem.
