1997 Ranger Accelerator/Throttle cable

Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could help me out.

The cable going from my accelerator pedal to the throttle body in the engine became disconnected/snapped/broke last week and I've been trying to find a replacement part. Unfortunately, they do not seem to exist and Ford has discontinued producing them for this model/year. (I've ordered them from 2 separate places that said they had them, but got shipped "discontinued part" notices instead)

Has anyone had to replace this part? and if so, what part did you use and can you point me to somewhere that gives instructions on replacing it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Its a 1997 Ford Ranger with the 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission.

You really need a picture of the only cable there is that connects to the accelerator pedal?

I should have one if its the same as a 98. I know I have 2 different kind of throttle cables.

I'll ask the same question as above but I'll ask it differently!
Can you post a pic of where it broke? There are several ways to repair a broken cable and it might be easier to repair it rather than finding another one.
