1998 2.5 PCV grommet
1998 2.5 PCV grommet
Hello all! I'm replacing my PCV in my 2.5 and notice the grommet is in poor shape. Seems to be a hard part to find and I'm having no luck. Anyone else dealing with this and find a fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I listed part numbers and prices for the PCV valve/grommet and the brake booster check valve/grommet in this thread-

I had to get mine from the local Ford Stealership next door. The 4 parts cost me around $80 total but your prices might be different.
If you can't find a new grommet and your old one is just dried out a bit and the PCV valve no longer fits tight you can put some electrical tape around the PCV stem, just make sure you don't have any tape on the working end, stay just above that. You should only need one to 3 wraps, depending on how sloppy your fit is. Just wrap once or twice then try it, add or remove tape as needed until you have a snug fit again.
But hopefully you can find a new grommet.
I know the PCV is a bear to get to, that's why I also included a link in the other thread to the extended reach needle nose pliers set I used to change mine. They're a game changer. They've gone up in price since I bought my set back in April 2021 ( I paid $27.70, they're now $45.25) but they're worth the money when you need to reach something hard to get at, like a PCV valve on one of these 2.5L engines.

I know it's a long read but I wanted to give the OP and anyone else as much information as I could.
