1999 xl 2.5 auto about a year ago had a no start situation .....let truck sit a few minutes and then started........when no start happened again a few days later,...let sit and still no start, let sit again and turned on ignition enough to hear relay click and heard fuel pump do about a 1 second cycle, turned ignition fully to start and started.....this has worked for me for the last year until today. I hear relay click, can swear I hear pump but maybe not. Had to run out real quick and fortunately have 2010 Ranger too, so jumped into that to make errands. Replaced relay six months ago to see if that would fix things but still had to do the sit and wait thing every third or fourth start. Too dark to go out and work on truck so figured if people agreed that pump is where to start looking when I get to work on it. Thanks!
