Hi, my buddy and I just picked up a 95 ranger 4cyl 2wd stick off craigslist guy needed money and the price was right. Seller said that it needed a fuel pump so got new fuel pump in and nothing. Truck will crank everything in the engine bay mechanics wise of the truck checked out other than no starting. Tested cam position sensor, and jumpering the fuel pump relay as well as checking fuses. Doesn't seem as if the truck is kicking on the brand new fuel pump. Have checked the fuel pump as well with a 12v battery to confirm if it wasnt defective. Yes there is gas in the tank. Is there anything that would prevent the fuel pump from kicking on and starting the truck other that a break in the line coming from the fuel pump?? Thanks!!

 

update: Found problem and solved it. After resetting the fuel inertia switch a couple of times got to looking at it real close and pulled back some carpet and the dumb previous owner unplugged the switch for some reason. Plugged it back in and she fired right up!
