I have a 96 5spd 2.3l reciently the battery died on it(i dont think its related) i replaced the battery after pop starting it for about a week, and now it seems to be running rich, and stalling out. the idle is all over the place about 70% of the time, and it has the same symptoms of a clogged converter (upon rev off idle dead spot, then hesitates till about 3k then opens up).
I have removed the converter, cut the front pipe off, and determined that it is not clogged so i reinstalled, the cat back was in poor shape, so thinking a baffle was causing too much restriction, i replaced the cat back. i don't want to throw parts at it, and currently don't have access to a scanner(removed my ses light cause it was on due to a faulty evap purge flow valve) so i cannot check O2 readouts, coolant temp readings, or tps voltage. any thoughts or ideas would me much appreciated.
