99 Ranger running rough, low power, loosing anti-freeze
2.3L 110K, extended cab , 5Spd, Air
All of a sudden it sounds like it is running on 5 cylinders. I removed each plug wire but it just ran worse. What else should I check?
I was loosing Anti-freeze a while ago, my son who was driving it when it started running bad and said it was overflowing anti-freeze from the reservoir where you fill it. It is now low and when I started it up and turned it off it made a bunch of gargling sounds. The oil looks fine and there is no smoke from the exhaust or anywhere else.
The way it is running reminds me of what happened to our Mazda MPV years ago which had to have the tensioner replaced.
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?
Thanks!

Thanks, yes, that's it, have the heads off and taking to machine shop for a valve job too. Hopefully they are not warped. Going to replace the timing chain and water pump while in there. Definitely flushing system and replacing oil/filter.
