my truck is a 1999 Mazda b2500 with the 2.5L 4cylinder..

i was just wondering if that motor is a Ford motor or a Mazda motor..

i tried searching first but i couldn't find anything on it..

thanks. i never thought about it until one of my friends asked me.. i assumed it was a ford motor but i dont know for sure...

i sure wish i could get some more power out of that little motor..lol

 

Yeah, they all got Ford motors in 'em.

And no, there's not a helluva lot you can do to increase the power of the little 4 bangers. Best thing you can do is get a bigger engine!

 

the lima motor was around before mazda and ford partnered up. the duratec is a mazda designed motor but since there pretty much owned by ford and the 23ns is built in america its not really very mazda.

limas are easy and cheap to get power out of since they came in factory turbo trim on the thunderturds. get a turbo coupe block for the forged internals then mild turbo build and tune will net easily over 200, depending on how much you want to build it 300+ reliable isnt unheard of for these motors
