Fuel gauge not working

Fuel gauge not working

My fuel gauge is not working now. I had half a tank. Turned the truck off filled up and now is read E. What could cause this and how hard to fix?

Process of elimination.................

I just fixed same problem on my white 94, it was the lil' barrel like float that costs less than $10, but you have to move the bed back to get to it.....

what was this part called. Pulling the bed is nothing but what is this part and is in the the fuel tank?

Yes it's in the tank & it's called a float, base PN# 9202
