Low Fuel Pressure

I have a 99 lima engine and I have only 25 PSI fuel pressure. There is no FPR, right? I usually only hear of fuel pumps going out all at once. Should I go ahead and replace the pump?

Yes, there is an FPR(fuel pressure regulator), its just in the gas tank on fuel pump assembly

Round silver unit about 1/2 way up is the FPR, not sure its replaceable and most likely not the problem in any case

Always change fuel filter FIRST, then retest pressure
If its still low the its the fuel pump, change the whole assembly, expected pressure is 55-65psi

Best access is to slide the bed back about 3 feet, unless you have a lift and good transmission jack, then you can drop the tank down

Bed has 3 screws on filler, and then 6 (T-55 torx) bolts in the bed, and then unplug tail light wiring
Bed is not heavy but easier to move with two guys because it is bulky

If you are alone and have a bottle or floor jack you can leave the 2 rear bed bolts in but loose, then jack up the front of the bed and BRACE IT, needs to be high enough to raise the pump assembly up and out, you will have the new assembly to know how high that is

Thank you for the very informative comment. I went ahead and changed out just the pump and it seems like that was the issue. I was under the impression usually fuel pumps gave out all at once so if you're reading this with low fuel pressure go ahead and try replacing the pump.

Good work

The FPR is also on the fuel pump assembly, so if you changed out the whole assembly you also replaced the FPR, it may have been bad
