No shift when cold
No shift when cold
Hey y’all.
Recently ran into some problems with my ‘97 Ranger. 2.3L 4 cylinder automatic. I had to replace the slip yoke housing a few months ago. Some how the gasket burnt out and tore up the slip yoke a bit and the housing. The slip yoke had two small gashes on it but put JBWeld on it and sanded it down. After driving around a bit it dipped into the 30s and now I have to wait for the truck to warm up and get some high RPMs to get it to shift into gear. I press the gas and the engine revs and the truck starts to roll back wards a bit and then kicks into gear. Almost like being in neutral. Fluid level gets checked daily and is always filled with type F. Any ideas on how to fix it? Bit embarrassing to fall out of gear at a red light.
