Hi, I'm afraid I can't help re the fluid choice, but I'm wondering if you noticed much difference as to how much force was required to turn your steering wheel after changing the pump. I bought an '07 about a month ago and the steering seems awfully heavy to me. The suspension is all good, so I'm wondering if the pump may be weak, or if these trucks just have stiff steering.
Cheers!

Compared to your CR-V, yes the steering is stiffer in the Ranger.
