Hey I just signed up and need help! I have a 95 ranger 2wh. dr. with a 2.3 engine. About a week ago it stalled out pulling a long steep hill. It started up ran rough for a short distance then did it again. I was able to get it home.Yesterday I backed it out of the garage seemed fine but died and wouldn't start back up. I can hear the fuel pump come on. Today I cleaned the MAF, put in fuel additive, and replaced a dirty air filter. It started and idled fine. I drove about eight miles and it stalled and died on the same hill at the same place on the way home. It will start but won't run. The only code showing was P0301(misfire) and no check engine light has come on. It is sitting on the shoulder, ANY IDEAS ???

 

that is a misfire on cylinder one, have you pulled the plug on cylinder 1?

also when is the last time you changed the fuel filter??

 

No I didn't. I didn't think it was fire since it did the same thing before and then was able to start it and drive it. I will check it when I go back to it. It has been about 40k since I changed the fuel filter. Any other ideas since I don't have it home?

 

there is a sensor where if it gets tilted it wont run or it will do wat your saying

 

What sensor would that be?

 

good q on mine it got broke and it was by the distubiter it had 4blue wires coming out of it
but that might not be the cause it could actully be a dirty distributer cap
