another 2.5 here and I hate it for all hell. Have Flowmaster 40 exhaust and intake done to it, still hate it. Have had nothing but problems with it and poor gas mileage. Junkyard engine -Mike-

I have a 2.5 here. Its good, just changed the spark plugs and it feels a heck of alot peppier. Overall its a great cruising engine. It wont get anywhere really fast but its doing fairly decent for gas mileage.

I have the 2.5L in my 98! It is quick for a little 4 Banger! I really like it! The best truck I have owned. It beat two 4.3 V6 S-10's and One 2.2L S-10. LOVE EM!

been there done that dude. I already have way more into the truck than what it's worth, not worth a penny more of my money. I don't have a junkyard swap if that's what you mean, but I meant my engine and my truck both belong in the junkyard as far I'm concerned -Mike-

I got a 2.5 and for it here it goes. (note still in process of building) Bored 30 over, fored rods and pistons form racer walsh, cam, stiffer springs (gotta find some still), gonna get the head o-ringed, 5.0 MAF sensor, get a nice clutch that i hope that will hold, Holset HX35w turbo, SCT tuner, might try and get a bigger TB. Theres some more things probly thatll happen with it but cant think of it right now.

No i havent found a cam yet dont know what would work good for it. And the cams aint labeld for 2.5 any cam for a 2.3 ranger will work racerwalsh has a bunch of cams on there site for a desent price tho. Yea Aint the clutch u getting come with a pressure plate? i heard about that one but havent found it yet cause i think the one kit is a stage 3 clutch and stage 2 or 3 pressure plate. Hows ur build coming along?

2.5 here and love it. 5-speed, 235/75/15's. I can put a motorcycle in the bed, and two on a trailer and pull in the mountains all day long with no problems. Handles great, stops great, perfect motor for occasional light towing without having a 10 MPG beast the rest of the week.

About that flex fan, how was the install on that? Also, do you just hook it up to the battery? Is there a switch to control it, or does it come on automatically?

only thing i can say is put lower gears in it. i put 4:11s in mine but i have 31 inch tires. you just have to get over the idea of wanting a fast ranger, at least with a 2.5
