Need Opinions!! Custom SFA vs. IFS??
So with the 5.0L almost done and the truck already maxed with of the shelf lift options etc. there really isnt much left to do EXCEPT go custom. And since Mallory said I cant get a new truck for at least another couple years due to teh work put in this one im stuck lol. I eventually want the truck about 4-5 inches higher riding on 37x13.50 or 38x14.50. Still no harcore wheeling, mudding, etc. Options ( since im good with math, building, etc)
1. SFA swap using Dana 44, high steer, 3.link, coilovers etc. basically exactly the same as ZABEARD's before the crawler transformation. Also I'm 2wd so i would have to add a Manual transfer case to the 4r70w, no biggie.
2. Custom build a set of upper and lower A arms, shock hoops with Coilovers, convert to heim steering. Similar to the dixon bros or camburg kits but instead of focusing on widening, go for more lift.
Feel free to vote or give me advice and opinions.

It's harder on ball joints etc on the IFS, i ran 35's on my Toyota and was constantly replacing wheel bearings, ball-joints, and lug nuts...
I would do SAS and don't look back, if you want to go big, and get stability it's the only way, if you decide to go hardcore wheeling later down the road, ti's easier as well, not to mention you can still retain coils on the front with a SAS and go 4 link...

All they are is massive diff drop brackets and huge lift knuckles. No very good ride wise unless you spend a ton.
The hardest part of IFS front is that you are going to have to get a 1/2 IFS front end to live up to those tires. I guess you could graft on a GM front end, But you still have to deal with unit bearings and ball joints. And, well its a GM front end....
My vote is for SFA. D44 should be perfect. Parts are super cheap, and easy to replace.

well i agree the 1/2 ton trucks doo look retarded over 37's. when theyhave that huuge drop crossmemebre for the 4wd it does look like crap i 100% agree. however i would just do drop upper and lower a arms keeping th eballjoints etc at stock angles. so that really wouldnt matter. but as far as funcionality and ease of desing and build the sfa would be easier
