Where can I find upper control arms for a 2.5” to 3” coil spring lift, I can’t seem to find them anywhere for decent price. my stock ball joints are about shot! Any help is greatly appreciated

 

also if I did 4” blocks in the rear would I need to extend my driveshaft or would I be ok?

 

Do you understand the forces that are applied to the rear springs with 4" blocks... ?
Even Traction Bars will be mounted on top of the springs and the longer bolts needed for the 4" of block will require a larger diameter U-Bolts... just to be on the safe side.
2" Blocks with Leaf Spring should be all you use, if you want more lift get new springs with the lift you want... shorter U-Bolts are safer, less wheel hop, and less stress on the Leaf Springs !
Maybe it is just me and I like overkill.

I am running the 6" SkyJacker rear Leafs without any block... equals 4+" of lift and I did not need a new rear driveshaft.
The front got the SuperLift Driveshaft.

When I got my SuperLift Rear Kit, I expected new Leaf Springs, NOT, got Blocks and the instructions stated add them to the existing blocks... WTF, no way; I immediately called SkyJacker and got a Spring Number... Yes more money !
What that numbers... I have not been able to find any postings here on the Site and in my paperwork, so I am showing blind here !

 

FR34S Skyjacker Softride Leaf Spring (estimated 4" lift according to mfgr.)
FR36S Skyjacker Softride Leaf Spring (estimated 6" lift according to mfgr.)

My guess is that the estimates above might imply installation using these lift springs with factory Ranger 4x4 blocks. Grev's 4"+ result w/o blocks for the FR36S seems to support that.

Intended for 86~97 Ranger but have also been used on 98+ with minor mods.
About $400~500 for a pair.

 

Thank you guys for your replies, I was mistaken the back is actually going to be a 3” block but the springs are definitely something to consider to avoide axle wrap and being hard on much stick springs.

Does anyone know about my other other question about the upper control arms for a 2.5” - 3” lift?
