06 Ford Ranger Sport Control Arms

Alright. I have a 2006 Ford Ranger Sport with the torsion bar front end and I am going to bag my truck. I can't find dropped spindles anywhere for my truck so i was going to get dropped control arms instead. I have been searching everywhere and have not found anything for my truck. My question now is will the '05 control arms fit on my '06. If they will then I will be posting pics of my truck up in a couple of months after it's bagged and body dropped. Any info on the front suspension would be greatly appreciated. I understand the torsion front end will have to be gone for me to lay frame. I just need to know about the control arms and spindles fitting from an '05 to an '06. Thanks abunch!

Why would you want to use 05 control arms? they are the same as the '06 ones.......If you plan to use control arms from an XLT model, they won't fit......

djms arms wont work on torsion bar truck I dont think, your basically screwed trying to bag it unless you go with a mustang 2 front clip or toyota front clip.

I understand that the whole tb suspension is going to have to be gone. That wont be that bad. I really need to find some control arms for my truck though. The ones I have right now are going to be gone. So i've been looking for some dropped replacement ones.

Will these fit for the uppers. They're made for an '05..

And will these fit the lowers? They're also made for an '05..

If anyone can give me any other advice feel free to tell me. If anyone knows of a shop that can custom make control arms, spindles etc etc. I would love to know about them. I am really going to bag this truck and I believe i'm going to need all the help I can get to do the front.

Thanks everyone for the input.......I appreciate it.

those arms wont work on your truck at all and good luck with bagging you will get no where close to laying frame because after you deal with new suspension your going to have to deal with the big *** engine crossmember on the sports/edges.

That big *** engine crossmember is getting torn outta there and a new one is gonna get fabbed up.

I understand this is going to be alot of work and i'm willing to do it.

Thanks D. for the info on the upper arms. I found a shop that will custom make the lowers for me.

if your going to do all that work just throw out the whole front ranger suspension and run a toyota or mustang 2 front clip.

I really think this isn't going to be that bad. If anyone disagrees please tell me why. I kinda wanna try and plan everything out before it happens. I found the dropped control arms that i needed. After I put those on I am going to totally rip out everything with the torsion front end. Weld on some bag mounts, weld on some shock mounts, then do all the plumbing and everything else that is necessary for the bags to work.

After the bags work and I have everything connected, go get the truck aligned.

And then TADA, the front should be done and pretty close to laying frame.

Then go eat a sandwich.

Does this sound like it's going to work? I mean, if the control arms fit, then everything else I explained should work right?

Well, and having a new crossmember fabbed up.

Is there anything else I might be missing for the front?

Its going to take more than that to lay the truck out what control arms did you find that will work? The DJM's will not work thats for sure and even if you did find other arms and weld in the bag mounts you still have the engine crossmember on the edge that hangs so low that when you air it out youll be low as I am with a 5.5 inch drop up front...

Torsion bar rangers are a real pain to bag its really not worth the work it will take to do I dont think you understand work you will be getting yourself into. It takes alot of work to get the front of a xlt with coil springs to lay engine crossmember and frame to get the edge that low you would have to cut the front frame and suspension off from the firewall forward and reclip it with a toyota front clip or mustang 2 and then you would be getting somewhere.

I'm not going to reclip my truck.

The top control arms are the JDM ones for an 01-04 XLT.

The lower control arms are going to be from VT Kustoms, they make a 2" dropped lower control arm for my truck.

The engine crossmember is............well I found one but i can't seem to find the link no more. : /

I'm still looking for some dropped spindles. If anybody can find me a pair I would really appreciate it.

And that should do it.

I GOT IT!

vt kustoms said they would custom fab a set of uppers and lowers for me. The lowers are dropped 2 inches..........

3rd shift customs makes a raised crossmember for my truck that ima use.

Seriously this is gonna work or sure. I'm pretty sure i got it down. And i have an excellent scheme for my truck to follow. You guys will see. I will show the doubters that anything is possible.

Hehe...........but you know what sucks? I did buy the wrong truck to bag. OH WELL!!!!!!! Live 'n learn.
