06 Ranger Sport rear end drop

Well I dug through the threads and did not find an answer so I will start a new one. First off let me say that I do not want to "drop it, slam it, drag it, or bag it. All want is to do is make the rear end level with the front. So what is the best way to accomplish this?

By the way I have an 06' Ext. Cab Ranger Sport.

Thanks for your input.

If you have t-bars it would be better to raise the front than to drop the rear. Search for threads on cranking the torsion bars, its been covered multiple times.

stiffer leaf springs with less of an arch should lower it

Seems to lower the *** end will cost you more in the end then just cranking the torsion bars a few turns. Only cost you an alignment, and there are lifetime ones out there. Long story short, if you want to save some cash, crank the t-bars.

Good luck!!

wondering if you have blocks in the rear? im not sure if the sports do or not, but if you do you can remove them, but you may need different ubolts

Yup...if the sports are just like the old edges, they should have blocks. I'd pull the blocks out and get new u-bolts. Or you could get a DJM or Roush or some other lowering leaf spring hanger.

thats the easiest and cheapest way of doing it. Removing the blocks however will be all you need to do. It'll probably actually make it just slightly lower then the front, but not to much.

Thanks guys! I may try to remove the blocks, just afraid I will have a saging a$$ end. Know what I mean.

Off topic I recieved an email from Ford today about there new 2007 EDGE Suv/car. Maybe thats why they dont have a ranger edge anymore.

When you remove your blocks, you'll need new U-bolts. (get it from local parts store.) You'll need the XLT U-bolts (4 of them).

After remove rear blocks, your truck will be the same height as the XLT's.

Ford is releasing a new crossover called EDGE. And that is percisely the reason why there are no more Ranger EDGE's.

Just need to correct one part of that. His REAR end will be same height as an xlt, but not the front.

If taking off the blocks will make the back lower, then just flip the hangers that will make it dead level. It does on the xlt's

hangers as in.. the front? er?

With the blocks removed, the EDGE's are pretty much leveled.

The rear hangers, from what i read in this threa guys are saying the front will be higher in than the back with blocks removed and from what I have seen on rear hangers flipped on xlt's it levels it out exactly. Im not to familar with torsion bar suspension as I have coil spring and Im slammed lol.

Just take out the blocks and see how you like it, About an Hour to do from start to finish and if you dont like it your out however much you paid for new u bolts. Its really easy to do and easily reversable if you dont like it.

i'm with Mark. And also, if you don't get the bolts too dirty, you can return them, haha.

Acutally, Greg's truck (my roommate's) is pretty level with the block-removal.
