08+ lift options

I have been reading posts for the past few hours and am trying to determine how to get 3" lift.

So far this is what i have come up with:

get the keys from Ford for a pre 07 ranger and then do a little TB crank

for the rear end get a aal and the chevy drop shackels

was wondering how this sounds.......

also part numbers would be helpful. I got about 1 month before i head into the hunting camp so gonna need the lift.

I dont like Body lifts so thats a last resort.

oh and if you havent seen my truck i posted a pic in the picture forum

Thanks

PreKey mod (07 and older keys on an 08+)will get you about 1.75" lift with the stock depth/crank of the bolts. Best and cheapest route is getting a set from another member or hitting up a junkyard.

Dump the stock block, and get the AAL and shackles. If you do those ontop of having a block, you'd be about an inch lower than me....you'll gain 3" in the back....but wont gain 3" in the front. If you did the shackle and AAL w/o the stock block, you'd gain about 2" in the rear.

All your PreKey info is found here, including part numbers....

Hey Rescue, check out my post in a few minutes, i just completed a shackle install with pre-keys. You will need to crank the bars tho to get it to around factory rack.

I want to say Dallis got all new parts....should be able to do it for under $100 by buying from a junkyard.

DallyBoy09 04-21-2009 09:18 PM

only new pars were the shackles, the bars and keys were used.....but dont forget this is CDN Moooola ......

And due to the lack of yards around here, parts for the newer trucks are hard to find, and none of the yards are 'you pull it' style.

Fx4wannabe01 04-21-2009 09:50 PM

CDN/AMCN blah. lol. I knowingly didn't put 'in Canadian dollars' in my reply because he's from Ontario too...BUT....I forgoted all about my little 'it'll run ya no more than $100' in relation to the CDN/American dollar rates. lol.

hockey pucks seem to be popular

use them as body lift pucks, lift blocks between the spring perch and leaf spring, stick them in your shock? hell wedge it between your bump stop and the a-arm
