You have lots of options for a 97 depending how much lift you are looking for. You can run coil spacers or lift coils to obtain 2 inches of lift in the front. This will also require cam bushing and an alignment in order to have the alignment set properly. If you are looking for more lift than that you will need drop brackets. There are several companies out there that make complete lift kits very affordably for your truck.
