98 Ranger Rear Stabilizer snapped

I have a 98 Ranger 4x4 6cyl 4.0L that has a snapped rear stabilizer. I am planning on locating a replacement rear stabilizer at a salvage yard, I haven't found a bar from a 98 but I did find one from a 96, so my question is will it fit mine?
That is one expensive bar to order from Ford, so I'd rather try to get one at a salvage yard. Just not sure if that bar is year specific, thanks in advance!!

the whole bar, the links are good, all mounting hardware is good, the bar snapped just inside of the bushing.

Ya, I will match up, just wanted to check, they are all over on Ebay and they say rear sway bars are compatible with pretty much anything 96 and up. Just have to confirm on the 4x4 vs 4x2, thanks for pointing that out.

The best price anywhere for a NEW rear bar is from Hillbank Motorsports. It has the rear bar end links and bushings and also includes a new front bar in the set. These are left over from a limited production run of 2WD "Thunderbolt" Rangers built as a joint project with Ford in 2002/2003. In actuality, both of these "high performance 2WD" sway bars are just 98+ production Ford Ranger 4WD parts. All parts are new, genuine Ford.

Hillbank has been trying to sell these off for several years so the price is down to $49 for the complete set of front/rear bars. They will probably hit you up for that much again in shipping but roughly $100 is still a small fraction of the price of new parts from Ford.

If I needed a rear bar, I would definitely jump on this deal. No hunting in junkyards for the rare rear sway bar or installing one that is as old as the one that failed.
