aal vs. shackle?

which is prefered? how long and tetious is the install on each? both are cheap kinda of. im trying to decide if i want the procomp short aal or the belltech shacks, i would have to rebend my exhaust but i was kinda wanting to dump it or run it in front of my tires anyways..

a shackle just moved the leaf spring down creating lift, and AAL make your rear springs stiffer creating lift. if you don't haul much in your bed i would recommend the shackles plus they are easier to install, an AAL will make the ride rougher. If you do haul still in your bed a lot i would install an AAL because your truck will stay level when loaded and still give you lift when your not loaded, also you need to remove the whole leaf spring to install an AAL so you have to remove the shackle any.

your not going to really see a difference the only place your going to see a difference is when you flex with a shackle as the tire droops it will be moved forward a little bit, it doesn't hurt anything just moved the pivot point since you lowered the rear of the leaf spring.

I recently 3" spindle lifted my 06 Sport and used the procomp AAL in the back. I didn't really notice a difference in the ride, but I was disappointed that it still left my rear about 1.5" lower than the front. I will be doing an shackle as well. The shackle will be easier to install and than the AAL.
