Which alignment for 2 wheel drive?
Thats what I thought, but everywhere I go to get estimate, they say its a "truck", and even though its not 4 wheel drive, they insist on the very expensive 4 wheel thrust alignment.
Yeah I know they have all the fancy equipment and such, but am thinking of trying to find a small shop that does alignments for two wheels, and at a cost thats not overly expensive.

When i got my truck aligned, they measure all four wheels before and after and print it out on a nice diagram. I noticed that my rears were off .1degrees on some measurement after than before. WTF?
On a solid rear axle they do a thrust angle alignment referencing the rear wheels. Rear has no adjustment unless the axle is really mounted off. A friend had a Plymouth that the rear axle was so far off it completely ate a set of tires in 5,000 miles. The dealership finally sent the car to a independent shop and they found the rear axle was mounted crooked. That was fixed and the car was fine.
So should I go for the computerized/high tech 4 wheel thrust alignment then?
Just for reference, my Firestone Firehawk tires have almost 27k miles on them, and very even wear (I do rotate often though)
