Bilstiens Rock

I just got them installed. My truck rides so nice now. I paid 40 shipped for the whole set off ebay and they are supposed to have about 15k on them. They were so stiff to get in. Joe and I did it. I am so pleased. Actually got about .75 inches of lift from it too after driving it once. Now I sit at about 38.25 inches.

I swear my truck rides better than my moms grand cherokee whe it was new. I thought that thing was nice for a 4x4.

Are you sure that they are 5100's, Luke? Level II's come with Bilstein HD Series Shocks which are the blue and yellow ones for OEM applications. The 5100's are custom sized for lift kit apps such as the RCD and they are zinc plated.

Not yet. I'd need the superlift to be that high. I do have the t-bars cranked some now and the shocks added to it so now we gotta put it next to your whip again.

I didnt get bilsteins but i bought Ranchos from truckperformance.com and got a used blown pair. At least they r cool and r going to replace them but i thought that sucked that i have to drive on bad ones for a bit longer

Rancho RS5000 is the only shock that I have found that is comparable to the Bilstein. If I can find an application either in Bilstein or Rancho then I will get some for my truck. I just have to look thats all.

i thought that rancho rs5000 were not supposed to be that great of a shock??? yet you were comparing them to bilsteins, ive got a pair of ranchos and i wasnt going to put them on but now im re considering...

and heres another stupid question, just how effective are front shocks on an IFS truck???? like can you really justify spending a good amount of money for shocks on the front

i actually got the Rancho RSX. I wanted the 9000's but they only make it for the front of the newer 4WD Rangers. But i got the Ranchos because they were cheaper. I have no experience with any shocks because this is my first truck so i cant say what is better. Ill let u guys know.

Shocks on the front of a 4x4 or edge model ranger fit 98-07 they are all torsion bar suspensions.

And Steve, Shocks make a huge difference on an IFS truck like ours.
