ball joints

2001 Ford Ranger
2.3 liter 5 speed
195k miles

Hello ,

I was told there is a bit of play in my front passenger side tire. I had this ball joint done 20k-30k miles ago about 2 yrs back. Is there a way to tighten and or pack with grease to tighten or should I just have it replaced? I need to get an inspection sticker.

Secondly, the e-brake handle has a coil spring that connects to the flange. Spring end is hooked and this hook broke. I am bending another hook from the spring and will attempt to put spring back in place. Will this work or do you have another suggestion?

Thanks in advance

i would get under there and check all the boots on the joints. if they are not torn, cracked, or otherwise worn, u should be ok, might need an alighnment, when was the last time you had one?

My ebrake cable spring snapped also, i just bought a little pack of throttle springs and used a small one to replace the snapped one. worked like a charm. your shouldnt have any problem finding another spring.

May not be the ball joint. Could be a tie rod or wheel bearing.
