Best shocks for front end

Good morning everyone. could anyone tell me what type and brand of shocks for the front end are the best to put on my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd/4wd stock suspension (no lift kit) 6cyl . ? I dont do any 4 wheeling , just regular driving and hauling . Mine are squeaking pretty bad. Thanks for any help.

I never tested shocks in an organized manner so cannot recommend.
The PO of my Ranger installed Monroes (unknown model #) 4 years ago and they're still working quietly and leak free.
KYB and Bilstein (4600 series?) are often mentioned on boards.

Bilstein Shocks, I have put many miles on them on my 2003 Ranger and have them on my BMWs, can't go wrong.

Bilstein's are top of the line shocks, BUT, you will pay $300-to almost $400 for a complete set (4). If your looking for a good shock for just everyday service and a daily driver, you might want to consider KYB shocks.
Very good brand, and 1/2 the price of the Bilstein's. Have them on my Ranger and my class c Ford based E-450 motor home that weighs in at around 12,000 lbs. Going on 5 years with them and they still feel new.
Again, just my opinion....but whatever you decide, stay away from the low priced cheapie stuff.
