Bilstein or Rancho 5000?

Hello,

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger 2.3L Duratec and I need to replace my shocks. I am looking at either Rancho Shocks 5000, which cost $200 or so for four at Rock Auto (with rebate) or a set of Bilstein Monotube Gas Shocks for $275 shipped from an ebay seller. My truck doesn't leave the road but it can do some towing from time to time with my class III.

I was looking at Monroe Max-Air shocks but I wasn't sure about the ride. I need to show up with most of my teeth when I go to the office.

Thanks!

I vote Bilstein. I really like the way they handle.

I like my Bilsteins a lot. I've heard some good things about the Ranch RS9000s though.

I have rancho rs9000x's on the rear of my truck and bilstein 5150s on the front. IMO the Bilsteins are a far better shock.

Bilstein's all the way. I upgraded my stock shocks for a set of those, in 2005 and I've been happy with them.

I got the KYBs installed over the weekend and they are great! Of course, they were better then the originals with 80K on them. Install was easy, I wish you could replace struts and shocks on cars this easy.

Thanks for the advice.
